In there, you'll receive onboarding information, including your bonus of free access to Your Platform Matters for a year! Here’s an overview of what you can expect: 1. Onboarding: Onboarding begins at purchase through Week One. As soon as you pay, you'll gain access to onboarding steps in Teachable You'll receive information via email from Ann (this might show up in your Promotions tab, so watch for it) You can join the cohort in the online community space (a platform called Mighty Networks) You'll work through the available content and get ready to launch 2. Launch: Launch begins Monday of Week One! Join a live one-hour kickoff call early in week one (the replay will be available in Mighty Networks) Meet Ann and your cohort on the kickoff call Access Week One recorded content, which will be released on Monday morning of Week One Make connections in our community space 3. Learn and Elevate Your Skills: Throughout the eight-week intensive, you'll be actively learning, writing, and offering and receiving feedback. During the eight weeks, you'll join live coaching calls/workshops (cohorts have specific times during each launch). Get input during the calls and office hours, interact in the community space, find encouragement throughout the program Write and offer feedback on short projects from your peers Work on your main project, building it as you go 4. Submit Your Polished Draft At the close of the eight weeks (Friday of the last week), you'll be working on your main project, incorporating all that you've learned. When you complete your polished draft, you'll submit it to me for review. Receive personalized input on your final project of up to 3,000 words (or multiple projects that add up to 3,000 words). Please submit your piece to me within two months of the closing session To provide thorough input on each member's piece, I ask for at least one month to complete the review after receiving your submission.

All the live sessions will be recorded with the exception of any spontaneous pop-up opportunity that has no content, like a virtual co-working session. Replays will be available to the cohort in Teachable, where the recorded training lives. You can go back and watch anything you miss, and you will have access to that for as long as it lives online. You'll get plenty of input interacting with us in Mighty Networks, too.

If you have reliable internet access, you can access everything from a browser. Here's what we'll use to stay connected during our time together: - Mighty Networks for our primary interaction in the community space — available 24/7 as a mobile app or in a browser - Teachable (an online learning platform) for recorded content and replays - Zoom for live weekly meetings - Google Docs as needed to share documents and comment on each other's work Email for reminders Apart from that, you'll be online on your own at times, reading articles, essays, poetry, and other literary work. And you'll probably want a digital device for much of your writing, though feel free to launch your creative process with pen and paper.

The program includes personalized input from Ann on your final project of up to 3,000 words when submitted within two months of the closing session. You'll share it with Ann as a Google Doc, and she'll offer her coaching notes in the comments and through "suggestion mode" (which is like track changes in Word). Ann will require at least one month to complete the review after receiving your submission. If you prefer to submit three 1,000-word projects (for a total of 3,000 words) or six 500-word projects (for a total of 3,000 words), Ann is open to being flexible so you end up pieces you can use.

It's a big investment. If you can't afford the full price right now, keep an eye on the program and get on Ann's email list, as this Intensive will open up from time to time, and you could save up for it in the future. You certainly could—Ann loves working with writers one-on-one. Working with a cohort is a lot of fun, because you learn from others, as well. In fact, the people you join with could become people who are on your launch team in the future, or as they become more and more known, they might even collaborate with you or write your foreword! These things happen! Also, you'll get all of this training related to the Art & Craft that Ann wouldn't have time to offer during one-hour coaching calls. Every writer's creative process is unique — one person may write, revise, and polish quickly, while another may take longer to develop a project. The Thursday live calls will last an hour and a half. The recorded teachings are short, with simple assignments to play with what you learn. That adds up to approximately 1.5 hours per week of live sessions. Add in your writing time, peer reviews, and occasional community interaction to get an idea of the time this intensive will require each week.

The training and examples used in the intensive are geared toward writers working on nonfiction projects such as blog posts, articles, essays, or chapters of nonfiction books. If you write fiction, you will need to write plenty of effective nonfiction for your sales copy, book proposal, marketing materials, pitches, and the like. You are welcome to join us, knowing you'll be learning skills especially useful to your nonfiction projects. Some of the content may apply to fiction writing, but Ann has not designed this intensive with novelists in mind.

This cohort-based course offers two ways for you to receive input on your writing. The first is through short assignments you complete each week to practice principles you learn in the training. Those will be peer-reviewed after one person's piece is workshopped on the live call. Led by Ann, this workshop will be encouraging and energizing, identifying what works and offering specific ideas to make your work even stronger. By the end of the program, you will complete a project of up to 3,000 words. At the end of the eight weeks, you may submit your finished piece to Ann for review as part of your investment. Due to the personalized nature of this course benefit, Ann requests at least one month from receiving it to complete the review of all cohort projects.
